Oct 1 2025 - Aerospace Medicine Clerkship
During my month-long NASA Aerospace Medicine clerkship at Johnson Space Center, I had the incredible opportunity to learn how NASA flight surgeons prepare and maintain astronaut health before, during, and after missions. I got to explore the NASA Fitness facilities which includes the T2 treadmill and ARED resistive exercise system used on the International Space Station, and visited the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory, where astronauts train underwater to simulate microgravity. Seeing firsthand how medicine, engineering, and physiology intersect in the space environment was fascinating—and it sparked a growing interest in dive and hyperbaric medicine. I now want to earn my dive certification to continue exploring this unique overlap between human performance and extreme environments.
